Our prayer is that your faith will be increased and your witness strengthened as you understand and are able to communicate more clearly that Jesus Christ is indeed the Lamb of God, slain before the foundation of the world. Zechariah spoke about the judgment and salvation of God and about the coming Messiah who would be a priest, governor, humble king and afflicted shepherd
God tests the faith of His children and the scorn of anti-theists alike by making something seem so far fetched that we would have to either have faith that the creator of the universe could have it manifest or we fall ashamed of its implausibility. The Lord gives grace to the humble How can we overcome sin and moral weakness in our personal lives? The Lord Jesus gives us his Holy Spirit to help us in our weakness (Romans 8:26) and to be our guide and consoler in temptation and testing (1 Corinthians 10:13). Did the devil make you do it?
NO, I am NOT saying that the devil makes people rape, but what I am saying is that when an iniquity such as lust exists, and we continue to feed it, it grows, gets stronger, and it allows the enemy to put such a strong temptation on a person that it makes it hard on the person to resist living out those strong urges, etc. Torment What's on your mind?Where the battle is fought Spiritual Warfare Dealing with Guilt The power of your thoughtsWhere many strongholds begin Condemnation vs

I remember when the Devil was quoting Scripture when he tempted Jesus in the Wilderness and although he knows Scripture very well, he does take it out of context. My walk has been a lonely one but I have always stayed close to God in all seasons (even when I thought I had strayed, its like he has been so good to me, I have been given enough rope but not to hang myself)

If we learnt to fly a plane the way most of us approach our relationship with God, we would focus on what we suppose to be the fun parts, give little attention to how to land, and ignore safety requirements. Once they find something that shakes you up they will keep trying it over and over relentlessly until they are absolutely convinced that their tactics will never again work with you
The Temptations of Jesus in the Gospels
1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, 2 where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. The Letter of James commends Christians who endure temptations and trials of any kind, and emphasizes that temptations do not come from God, but rather from one's own evil desires (James 1:12-14)

Further, while the Lord will be the Sanctuary of such as confide in these promises and await their fulfilment, He will drive to confusion, darkness, and despair the vast multitude of the nation who despised His oracles, and, in their anxiety and distress, betook themselves to the lying oracles of the heathen
Now if you had been fasting for 40 days and nights, how would you feel at the end of that time? Hungry! And so no wonder it says in verse 2 that after the 40 days and nights that Jesus was hungry! And then after this 40 days, while still in the desert with no food, Jesus is tempted 3 times by satan. And we read in verse 2 that Jesus has been in the wilderness for 40 days and nights, and during that time He was fasting - that is, not eating anything
All will confess that they deserve eternal death.Second, sin will be purged from the universe by the total and final destruction of sin, sinners, the devil, and his angels. God is willing to be misunderstood and falsely accused and blamed for ages, while taking the time to allow every person to freely choose whom he will follow
He provides a powerful scene showing Jesus in action on the Sabbath in the synagogue in Nazareth where he had been brought up, in what we are probably meant to understand as a typical instance of the preaching programme on which Jesus had now embarked. Then the universalist destiny of the new Israel could be allowed to take its course under the guidance and inspiration of the Spirit, as Luke set out to chronicle in the subsequent Acts of the Apostles
The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) - IMDb
Some people will say that he wasn't enough like Jesus, but you do have to realize that this is probably the hardest character to play and I think that Defoe did the best job that anyone could have done at playing Christ. Many people with very strong religious convictions will see this movie as offensive, simply because Christ is portrayed a frightened man who sees his fate as a burdon through 'half' of the film, and I implicate the word 'half' for a reason
Luke 4:1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
Let not any abuse of Scripture by Satan or by men abate our esteem, or cause us to abandon its use; but let us study it still, seek to know it, and seek our defence from it in all kinds of assaults. Christ will not worship Satan; nor, when he has the kingdoms of the world delivered to him by his Father, will he suffer any remains of the worship of the devil to continue in them
Now it is important to notice that in this account, as our Lord meets these temptations on the levels of the physical, soul and spirit, each time he used the same weapon. Now he removes all his pretenses, masks and disguises, and comes up with a direct, sheer, naked appeal to the deepest desire in the heart of mankind, placed there by God, that his life might be worthwhile
Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
The only important objection to this is that directly after the temptation (as seems most probable) he comes to John in "Bethany beyond Jordan," John 1:28 (not necessarily to be identified with "Bethabara" of the Received Text; its locality is quite unknown). The time when this was done was "then"; when Jesus had been baptized by John; when the Holy Ghost descended on him, and he was full of it; when he had such a testimony from his Father of his relation to him, affection for him, and delight in him; "then" was he led, "immediately", as Mark says, Mark 1:12
Jesus Tempted in the Wilderness. Commentary - The Fourfold Gospel
The Persians held that there were two contending deities--a good one and a bad one; and the Hebrews, according to these critics, learned this doctrine from the Persians during the days of their Babylonian captivity, and modified it so that the god of evil became the devil. The Father's voice had just declared the Sonship of Jesus, and Satan here boldly questions the truth of God's words, just as he did in the beginning ( Genesis 3:3-5 )
