Re: Transportation from Penn Station to Secaucus or Jersey city Aug 18, 2006, 12:43 PM The new hotel I had in mind was not the Comfort Inn (Sheepshead Bay is nice enough, but it is impossible to reach by public transportation) but the new Holiday Inn Express on Union Street between Third and Fourth Ave. I understand your concern about bed bugs but safety is equally an issue and some areas near Newark are NOT safe and imo, walking along a highway near the entrance to the Holland Tunnel is certainly not safe

Amtrak also runs hourly service to New York City with some trains continuing to or originating from Boston, Massachusetts, providing service to Stamford and New Haven, Connecticut and intermediate points. Customers may purchase a ticket to ride on AirTrain from NJ Transit or Amtrak at their train stations, ticket offices or ticketing machines and the AirTrain Newark fee will be included - one ticket does it all
