Runners make the turnaround near the northern end of Las Vegas Boulevard and near some of the classic casinos like the Golden Nugget before heading back onto Las Vegas Boulevard for the return route back to Mandalay Bay and the race finish line. There is no way you are going to avoid putting on an extra mile or two on your legs before and after the race (because of distance from bag check to start and because of distance between start and finish line), but you can make it a little easier.As far as the race, this is your only opportunity to run on Las Vegas Boulevard with no auto traffic and at night. In addition, I believe there was some rodeo convention going on that same weekend and the Mandalay Bay Convention Center was so packed, you were like a sardine trying to exit to get to the start line
