kadmus i have tried all possible methods i could think off or that i could find on the internet first i got error 3194 so i got ireb and tiny umbrella i managed to follow all instructions to the letter and now i have error 1601 even tho i disabled my antivirus software.. I am chosing Restore but still itunes shows preparing ipad for the update and hang, waited like 15 minutes for it .
then i want to restore the backup that i did before upgrading, so I would have to click restore+option key to select the backup i want, but the restore button is greyed out. .etc gone missing after the jailbreak? tvztvzNo, everything is still available and it is working as expected, though I have held off on syncing the phone with iTunes until I get an answer

I went back and changed to the 3rd SIM ID, went to Attempt Activate and BINGO!!!! The screen went blank except a little turning wheel in middle of the screen, and when it came back on I got a T-mobile signal!Moral of the story, if you do not succeed my selecting the first SIM ID on the ATT list, keep trying on down the list till you find the right one
c) When you eventually upgrade (and lets face it - as soon as they come out with a 3G model, lots of us are going to upgrade) you can eBay your old iPhone without the SIM card, and the eventual buyer can activate a new SIM card at their ATT dealer. So, I plan to remove my SIM card while over there, and keep my iPhone with me as a new toy, phonebook, ipod, camera, web and email surfing tool every time I hit a hotspot
