It doesn't require me to download some lame software program! A sincere, thank you for posting this solution! The Best part is that it is so simple and clever
If it fails in any one of those with un-repairable message or freezes infinitely, then there is no solution, you would have to rush to apple to get the support. I run the restore and the ipod is restored, restarts and then Itunes gives me the exact same message again.I have put this Ipod is disk mode, reformatted it using Windows, I have switched computers, switched USB ports, and followed to the letter the 5 directions above
